Ash, Inc.

Ash, Inc. Defined

ASH, INC. was originally created to handle construction operations for OAK BAY COMPANY.   Oak Bay Company was founded in 1972 with the initial business of locating and acquiring apartments suitable for conversion into condominiums.   In the first three years of Oak Bay Company’s existence, 120 units were successfully converted and sold.    During 1975 Oak Bay’s management forecasted that, due to critical land shortages combined with emerging social, economic and environmental factors, the low priced home was virtually being forced out of the realm of possibility.

By 1977, ASH, INC.’s expansion included apartments, new homes and townhouse construction.   In 1984, ASH, INC. boldly brought new products to the market place and the timing was perfect as we entered the senior citizen rental market which soon included the congregate care field in 1985.

A primary goal at ASH, INC. is to bring comfortable housing within the "realm of affordability." Tax exempt bond financing and other creative financing plans, coupled with tight construction controls, has created well received and highly successful products for the home buyer’s market.  To date our projects have been completed on time and within budget and our management is proud of its outstanding track record.

ASH, INC.’s carefully planned growth is the product of the various company managers and their years of experience with other development firms.   ASH, INC.’s President, Albert S. Howell completed more than 4500 apartment units in California and Arizona while working for Larwin Multi-housing, Inc. and Shareholder’s Capital Group.

ASH, INC.’s former Vice President, H. Scott Howell, brought extensive background in marketing apartment investment properties and vacant land while working at Coldwell Banker Company.   Mr. Scott Howell spent several years as Project Manager with American Diversified Capital Corporation and Vice President of Calmark Development Corporation processing over 1,500 apartment units of general occupancy and senior citizen rental housing.

ASH, INC.’s current Vice President of Consturction, Larry Messer, has had extensive experience in all aspects of construction.   Mr. Messer began his construction career with remodeling, moved on to building houses for clients on fixed-budget contracts, and later building high end speculative homes for sale.   Recently Mr. Messer has been involved in the land development and construction of a four acre mini-storage project in Penn Valley, California.   Mr. Messer supervised the installation the project infrastructure consisting of water and sewer systems, rain water retention basin, underground electrical as well as the construction of the mini-storage buildings.
